Only a few investigations have been reportedl of attempts to reveal the geometry of translocation by radioautography. Biddlulph's radioautograms of kidney bean stems (1, 2) show general localization of activity in the phloem region following foliar applications of p32, S-35, andl Cl40-. Thaine and Wralters (5) reported preliminary work with C14-photosynthate in soybeans. The application of radioautography to labelled photosvnthate presents special difficulties.
